..Dress professionally. This means at the very least nice slacks and a button up shirt, if not a suit.
..Turn off your cell phone before entering the building for your interview.
..Treat everyone that you meet with respect, you never know who you will have an effect on.
..Prepare questions and do as much research on the company and position as possible. You never know what information will help you get the job.
..Fill out all applications in full and in depth, this is the first sign for the company as to your attitude towards working with them.
..Have an updated resume with you that is clean and neat.
..Prepare your answers to commonly asked interview questions.
..Arrive at your interview at least 10 to 15 minutes before you are supposed to be there, but do not arrive any earlier than that.
..Wait calmly, without looking continuously at your watch. You want it to appear that you want to be there.
..Bring everything that you are supposed to bring with you. If they asked you to bring two forms of ID, resume, etc.
..Return every phone call from a possible employer. Even if you decide that you do not want the job, you do not want to burn any future bridges with any company.
..Go into the interview with a calm, positive attitude.
..Make eye contact. It shows that you are interested in what the interviewer is saying, and makes you seem more confident.
..Write down the company information and time when you set your appointment. You dont want to end up arriving late because you forgot your appointment time or where you were going.

..Ask the receptionist to make a copy of your resume, come prepared.
..Tell an employer “it is on my resume”; always fill out an application in depth.
..Chew gum in an interview or while you are in the company’s building.
..Answer your cell phone in an interview.
..Make inappropriate jokes.
..Be impatient. At times employers will make you wait to see how you react. Don’t give them anything negative.
..Leave magazines in the waiting area. If you do elect to read a magazine, put it back where you got it from.
..Do not bring anyone with you, not family members, and not friends. If someone drove you, ask him or her to wait in the car, or go grab a bite to eat.
..Do not bring your laptop or extra materials. You do NOT need to multi-task while waiting for an interview. It makes you seem unprofessional and uninterested.
..Do not mislead companies about your background. When they do check into your job history or criminal history, it will look worse for you to have said something incorrect, than to have told the truth.
